Apply for a Partial Scholarship

Join our mission to make Lifestyle Medicine and Health Coaching accessible to everyone.

And yes, we need your passion and engagement to make this happen.

Our charity focus is to inspire Lifestyle Medicine Leadership by providing Masters and Ph.D. Doctorate Degree Program Scholarships to health professionals in underserved communities.

The partial scholarship funds awarded by LMUF can be applied towards certificate & degree programs at participating universities offering Lifestyle Medicine or Health Coaching programs.

Depending on your previous degrees, professional & work experience, the LMUF partial scholarship with tuition credits typically reduces your certificate or degree program tuition by up to 50% (with the remaining tuition to be covered by the student).

At LMUF, we believe that Lifestyle Medicine and Health Coaching are especially needed in communities with minimal or no access to lifestyle and health coaching-based services. Therefore, scholarship-supported health professionals in underserved communities will have the biggest impact in raising awareness, providing chronic disease solutions, and radically improving individuals and communities health outcomes.

We envision you to become a leader in Lifestyle Medicine, build a successful career, and transform thousands of lives.

Why offer Degree Program Scholarships in Lifestyle Medicine?

Lifestyle Medicine has the potential to stop and reverse the majority of chronic, non-communicable diseases. The facts are clear.
But how can we as a society provide options in healthcare and train health professionals to actually become experts and authorities in Lifestyle Medicine and integrate their skills into a variety of healthcare environments?

We believe that every doctor, nurse, psychologist, and allied healthcare provider needs to be trained in Lifestyle Medicine, the root-causes of symptoms, and how to address them.

Supporting health care professionals to earn degrees and become leaders in Lifestyle Medicine is not only a worthy cause but absolutely needed to shift our current "disease management" model of healthcare towards prevention, healthy and conscious living.

Why do we support Health Professionals in underserved communities?

Doctoral students don’t resemble the demographics of most countries at large. Black Americans, Latinos, and Native Americans together make up about 30% of the U.S. population but  ONLY 15% of U.S. doctorates.

Women are holding over 76% of all health care jobs. About 1 million professionally active physicians are currently practicing in the U.S., 359,409 of whom are female. This translates to a gender ratio of 1.8 male physicians to 1 female physician.

Women are greatly underrepresented in graduate STEM programs.

A 2014 study found fewer than half of Black and Latino doctoral students in the behavioral and social sciences earned a doctoral degree within seven years. More than a third left their programs without finishing.
